On April 26, 2015, Reel Beauty celebrated its 10-year anniversary at the Park Hyatt on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile.
The High-Tea Anniversary honored Sheri Shepherd, highlighted Reel Beauty alumnus and showcased the accomplishments of the organization ten years of service through mentoring and leadership. Above are photos from our 10-year event:
Coin Purse Monologues
Reel Beauty along with Sharon McGee (now deceased) partnered to produce a stage performance for young teens called “The Coin Purse Monologues.”
This production derives from the entity The Pocketbook Monologues which invites women of color to have an open and honest discussion about sexual responsibility.
With the alarming statistics on teen pregnancy and STD’s among teen girls, Reel Beauty wanted to put on a stage performance that would help bring awareness to this alarming epidemic through monologues. The Reel Beauty girls put on an amazing performance.
